I borrowed my first camera from my 8th grade teacher in 1967 and so have now been a photographer for 50 years. My first cameras were a hand-me-down Edixa Reflex B from my grandfather, then a Mamiya 500DTL. I added a Yashica A medium format in the late 70’s and then graduated to an Olympus OM-1, which I still use. My go-to equipment now is a Canon 5D mkII, Mamiya 7II, Sony RX100III and an Iphone 6s.
I’m a geochemist for my day job and I have spent most of the last 40 years working on water quality issues at mining sites. I have gotten to travel to many out of the way places in North and Central America and Australia for work. My first love has always been black and white landscape photography though I also enjoy color work, abstract, travel, macro and street photography.
