Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
I was lucky enough to live in the northern portion of the Yellowstone region for over 40 years. It’s an immense area, with 2.2 million acres in Yellowstone alone, plus the Grand Tetons, another 10 million acres of national forest, and about 4 million more in other public lands. It supports large free-ranging of North America’s largest mammals as well as the apex predators, Grizzly Bear, Wolves, and Mountain Lions.
